A Celebration of Food and Family Fun
The Taste of Irving is an outdoor festival featuring family-friendly activities and food from a variety of area restaurants and food trucks.  With live music, a fun zone, a large craft marketplace and culinary entertainment, the event offers attractions for all.  The highlights of the event are the food samples; each restaurant sells items from their menu for $5 or less!
Admission to this festival is free.  Click on the tabs below for more details about the entertainment and exhibits.  New information will be added regularly as the event date nears.

Important Information:
  • Limited seating is provided at each stage; however, much of the viewing area is standing room only.
  • An ATM is available near the Information Tent.
  • Alcohol will be sold to guests ages 21 and older, and may not be brought into or removed from the event site.
  • Leashed, well-behaved dogs are permitted; the handler is responsible for controlling and cleaning up after the dog at all times.
  • Please refrain from smoking within the event grounds.
  • ADA parking is available at Ranchview High School, with wheelchair-accessible shuttle service provided.

Enjoy the cultural experience provided by the sounds and performances of several talented world music groups.  Combined with the wide variety of foods available, this music will take audiences on a journey around the world. 
The Obscure Dignitaries The Obscure Dignitaries
12:30 to 2 p.m.

The Obscure Dignitaries is a five-human collective that showcases traditional world-folk and global pop with authentic and free-wheeling invention. From Gypsy rhythms, Slavic torch songs and American folk melodies to psychedelic Bollywood hits, Mexican dances and galloping Turkish grooves, the group takes you around the world.

2:30 to 4 p.m.

A full stage production, this group provides an entire Bollywood experience.  Enjoy the Band Baaja Baraat, inspired by traditional baraats in India, including brass players, dhol and drums. Take in the unique flare of the electric violin, and revel in the full Bollywood dance troupe. Audience members will be dancing along with the high-energy performance.  
Havana NRG Havana NRG
4:30 to 6 p.m.

Celebrating over 14 years of great success, Havana NRG continues to be one of the strongest up-and-coming Latin orchestras of the world. Thanks to a magnificent group of skilled musicians, they have defined "a new breed of Latin band." Havana NRG is the New Rhythm Generation that is taking its Cuban roots to new levels of performance.
