Summer Reading Challenge

Irving Public Library's annual Summer Reading Challenge (June 1 - Aug 15) keeps everyone - children, teens and adults - reading during summer months. Prizes can be earned for reading books, magazines or listening to audiobooks.

Pick up a paper reading log or visit ReadSquared beginning June 1 to get started.

Children can read, or be read to, for 20 minutes a day for five days at a time. Color in the reading log’s musical note for each day completed, then take the log to any Irving library starting after June 5. Children’s prizes include coupons, activity sheets, candy, a free book and a reading medal for completing the challenge.
