About Towne is a biweekly half-hour arts series that highlights Irving’s excellent local artists and craftsmen, entertainment venues and arts organizations. It also serves the viewing audience by publicizing upcoming concerts, performances, festivals and events.

On this episode of About Towne we’ll have highlights from the 21st Annual Chocolate and Chic Luncheon, benefitting Brighter Tomorrows . We’ll meet the local volunteers behind Great Days of Service. And…  we’ll check out the “Wag, Walk and Roll” walkathon, benefitting the DFW Humane Society. Plus, we’ll get the scoop on the Cynthia Ann and Quanah Parker exhibit and the Texas and Neighbors Exhibit at the Irving Arts Center.

Next time on About Towne we’ll meet the juror and winners of the 32nd Annual  Texas & Neighbors Regional Art Exhibition. We’ll check out Canal Fest 2017. And…  we’ll talk with Larry Gatlin and David Phelps, stars of the new musical “Quanah,” the latest world premiere from Lyric Stage. Plus, we’ll get all the details on three great events coming up fast:  Irving Black Arts Council’s new play, on May 6, Taste of Irving on May 20, and the 10th Annual Dragon Boat, Kite and Lantern Festival on May 21.
